Comment: This is a great mixer, my daughter in law got it for me, as I had an old and really poor mixer. This one works very well, doesn't spatter when I start it up, and is easy to clean.

Comment: Some 6 or so years ago I used to have one of these when It was "Made in US." From the tone of the recent reviews, it sounds like there is room for improvement, even when It is made in China. The beaters for my "Made in US" unit were very well made, very strong assembly. What was wrong was it was Very loud! at any speed it made an annoying loud whine, and Hi speed was excessively loud. The mixer only got used one or two times a month..... after 15 months a little plastic part inside that holds one of the beaters in place broke and I was left with a one beater mixer .... not much use after that.... The other issue was an extreemly stiff electric cord that would pull the mixer over. To make matters worse was KitchenAid didn't have replacement parts available... probably still don't. Customer Service did offer me a small discount on a new one ... but, NO, too much of an annoyance to bother with another. Went back to using a 30 year old Hamilton Beach... and still use it today.

Comment: I love this mixer...it came with the whipper attachment. I bought a 5 speed for my kids, that came with the dough hooks and liquid blender attachments (but no whipping attachment). Why can't kitchenaid include ALL attachments. Comment: I received this little hummer a few days ago and established one objective: wear it out before Christmas. I failed miserably! I spent more time cleaning the blades going from one recipe to another but no matter what recipe I tried nothing would slow this bad boy down. Nothing! It even made my Pro6 stand mixer look weak. My attitude before using it was there is no way this mixer is as good or better than my old 5 speed but alas it sent the 5 speed to the hope-you-can-use-it dumpster.
My mixer needs are simple: it should mix whatever you want mixed. If it does it has earned its place in the closet. If not, bye bye. This sits on the front of the shelf. It is that good.
